High Desert Golf exists to protect and restore one of Far West Texas's most enduring landmarks and to invest in the people who will shape its future.
Established on donated land in the 1960s, the Marfa Golf Course sits at 4,882 feet above sea level. It is the highest golf course in Texas, with spectacular views of the Davis Mountains to the north and the Chinati Mountains to the south. The fairways are lined with pine and cottonwood trees, and the course blends into the beautiful grassland and local flora of the Chihuahuan Desert. Birds of prey nest in the high trees, pronghorn graze the fairways at sunset, and migratory birds have used this stopover for half a century. It is an oasis in the dry expanse of West Texas.
The Marfa Golf Course is as much a nature preserve as it is a gathering place for people who love the game. For generations it has been a place where families pass down traditions, where kids from Marfa and the surrounding counties find an outlet, and where the community comes together.
High Desert Golf is committed to preserving that legacy, maintaining the course, modernizing its operations, and keeping it accessible and affordable. All proceeds in excess of expenses are put back into K-12 education in Presidio County, opening doors for future generations.
